Keep your head down

I saw it on Youtube

When it comes to improving your golf game, many players turn to YouTube—and to be fair, there’s plenty of quality advice available. But there’s one instruction that continues to cause confusion: “keep your head down.”
You’ve probably heard it after a poor shot—“you lifted your head!” In reality, that’s rarely the true cause. What’s actually happening is the entire upper body—arms, hands, and chest—lifting through impact.
When that structure breaks down, it often leads to the classic “chicken wing” finish, where the lead arm folds and the strike becomes weak, inconsistent, and difficult to control.
Now, YouTube absolutely has its place. It’s a great tool for visual learning and can help you understand key positions and movements within the golf swing.
But it doesn’t coach you. It doesn’t see your timing, your physical limitations, or how your swing actually functions under pressure. That’s where structured coaching makes the real difference.
A coach doesn’t just identify what’s going wrong—we provide clear, simple drills that directly address your swing.
Every golfer is different, and real improvement comes from applying the right feel, the right movement, and the right sequence for your game.
We focus on building movements that are repeatable and suited to your body and ability. We simplify the process, reinforce correct patterns, and help you develop a swing that stands up when it matters.
So yes—use YouTube as a reference. But don’t just copy what you see.
Find reputable coaching advice, test what works for you, and most importantly, get your swing reviewed.
If you’re keen, send through a video and let’s take a look together:
